From June 21 to 24, the international trade fair AUTOMATICA was held in Munich. With 30% more visitors and 16% more exhibitors, the organisers were very satisfied: In total, approximately 45,000 visitors, including one third from abroad, informed themselves about the range of services and products offered by 839 exhibitors from 47 countries. A special focus was on the topic of digitalisation, "Arbeit 4.0" and service robotics. Right in the middle of the large, shared Cluster Mechatronik & Automation booth, SPN presented itself with a screw spindle for use in the human-robot collaboration (HRC) with the lightweight robot LBR iiwa from KUKA . The goal of the new development is to relieve employees of strenuous and monotonous screw assembly tasks. “Especially on the second day of the trade fair a large number of trade visitors dropped by the joint booth”, explained Anton Lösch, Head of Gear Unit Sales at SPN. The trade press, who attended a press conference on the 21st of June, also showed great interest. At the press conference a lot of individual discussions took place and agreements were made for further publications. The press had already reported in detail on the HRC screw spindle beforehand. At this year's MOTEK in Stuttgart, which will be taking place from the 10–13 October, SPN will have its own booth. This will be followed by SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg from 22–24 November.
