With the best possible grade 1,0 and the compliment of „having done a great job in all respects” (SPN supervisor Timo Ebert), Alexander Tuffentsammer and Patrick Weidmann, students at the Technical School Aalen, successfully finished their collaboration at SPN Schwaben Präzision in June 2017. Since September 2016, the two technicians took part in a comprehensive project about the „quality assurance gearboxes”. In this framework, they did not only contribute theoretical work from their home office, but also cooperated with mechatronic technicians, design engineers, the workshop and the prototyping department in the company. Their responsibility / task within the quality assurance project was to design the test bench, issue the whole concept of the frame layout, the realization of a linear unit (in connection with best possible flexibility in order to test many different gearbox types), the design of the pneumatic drive as well as the creation of a corresponding safety concept. Tuffentsammer and Weidmann have achieved it from the first planning draft over the complete design to the successful implementing within the project period to guarantee the complete mechanical realization of the test bench.
