With the new investment, the sector “turning/chuck parts” is expanded. The new CTX800 stands in the “process chain soft” with department head Stephan Wolf and is run in the 2 / 3 shift operation. The employees Gerhard Ruf, Stefan Stempfle and Thomas Meyer are happy to work on such a brandnew machine and with the latest technology. A machine training took place for the SPN employees also and already in January. “The new investment is meant for the production of small batch sizes. Thanks to the Y axis, it is also possible to carry out milling work”, Stefan Ohmüller, responsible for production technologies at SPN Schwaben Präzision, said. The fast change system at the chuck is especially good for the setting-up. Thanks to the steady rest, long and slim shafts can be processed very good. Furthermore, the eccentric turning is possible without special workholding at the new CTX 800.
