Fit for digitalisation: SPN Schwaben Präzision participates in reasearch project „SynDiQuAss“!

„SynDiQuAss“ – this artificial term difficult to pronounce is the abbreviation of the initiative „Synchronisation of digitalisation, quality assurance and assistance system at worplaces with small automatisation level”.  Promoted by the German Ministry for Education and Research and the European Social Fund for Germany, SynDiQuAss unites scientific competence and spirit of research with practical relevance and market experience of medium-sized companies. Right in the middle of this: SPN Schwaben Präzision! In co-operation with the university of Augsburg and the Fraunhofer IGCV, alongside Ohnhäuser GmbH as well as two other technology companies, SPN will elaborate a master plan, which will include measures universally valid, according to which compact medium-sized companies can get fit for the future by means of digitalisation and assistance systems. Compared to industrial large companies with their high automatisation levels, the focus of the elaboration will be laid especially on a maximum flexibility of the production processes down to batch size one. According to these presets, SPN´s  project manager „SynDiQuAss“ Hermann Klug sees a lot of advantages for the company connected with this research project. Klug: “SynDiQuAss“ offers us possibilities to carry the whole complex of the assembly workplaces into the future step by step. Especially the adaptation and modernisation of the assistance systems - information carriers, visualisation, collaborating robot technology – will support us in the medium and long term to secure our sustainability.” By means of real demonstrator workplaces, the interdisciplinary project team is supposed to involve step by step also other sectors, like the quality assurance, into its inventory. The investment in the own sustainability will, according to Mr Klug, definitely show in an increased productivity and flexibility. “It is our target to create workplaces  with continuous digital support, which meet the rising requirements of the next few years in view of profitability and efficiency. Furthermore, we intend to improve the quality of our assembly processes and to significantly increase the competence of our employees when it comes to dealing with digital production technology.”
