On Sunday, 26 January, the promotional award of the Fritz and Lieselotte Hopf foundation was presented to the music student Anna Katharina Stängle.

Anna Stängle is 13 years old and goes to the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium (grammar school) in Nördlingen. She has been playing the piano since she was 6 years old at the Rieser Musikschule. She started with the cello with 8 years which became her great passion soon. At the age of 10, she changed to the cellist Verena Sennekamp as young student to the training college for music in Dinkelsbühl. The 13-year old has participated in many master courses with the cello already, for example in the Easter and Summer camp of the Austrian Master Classes in Zell an der Pram (Austria).

The prize winner created the celebration with lots of concentration, enormous musicality and enthusiasm. At first, she played in the recorder ensemble „Pfiffikus“ under the leadership of Elke Moll. After that, she demonstrated her skills at the piano showing her technical skills.

Josef Seitz, chairman of the Fritz and Lieselotte Hopf foundation honoured Anna in his speech as an extremely diligent, reliable and very interested young musician who has a clear target: she would like to study the cello.

Besides the piano and cello lessons, Anna also sings in the children church choir and has been having organ lessons organised by the church music director Udo Knauer. She absolutely deserves the prize for so much musical commitment!

After the speech of Mr Seitz, Anna played two very virtuosic cello pieces. Then, the prize was awarded. The „Peanuts“ under the leadership of Christian Möwes took over the musical finish. Three famous pieces from „Two steps from hell“ were played, which are used in numerous trailers and films. Anna also played in this group and delighted the audience. During this hour of music, the diversity of this very talented young musician could be seen.
