Jürgen Schneller could finish his studies „engineering economics“ in January 2019 successfully with his thesis „Planning for the introduction of a collaborating robot on a tool machine in small series procution“.

Jürgen Schneller, who made a training as industrial mechanic at SPN already in 2007, decided in October 2009 that he wanted to do an advanced training as technician for machine tools, which he finished successfully in 2013. During that time, Jürgen worked as a machine operator at SPN in der gear production departure. Due to the support of SPN and the prospect of a permanent employment as an engineer, he started his studies in the field of engineering economics at the university of Aalen in spring 2015.

Jürgen has passed all of this excellently and is now allowed bear the title „Bachelor of Engineering“ after his successful thesis.

It was the target of the thesis to automate the loading and unloading process of a tool machine with the future-oriented robot technology. Parallel to the planning, the project could even be put into practice. At the moment, with our robot SARA (system automated robot application), orders are already produced automated on the external cylindrical grinding machine. Thanks to the mobility of the system, many advantages of a manual operation and the full automatisation can be united and with the successful termination, the necessary experience with the new technolgoy can be gathered. The employee is supposed to be supported in terms of his daily jobs. In the future, it will be necessary to improve the acceptance between human being and robot so that the production processes can be further optimised and and that thus the competitiveness can be maintained in the long run.

With this know-how, Jürgen supports the production technology deparmtent. He is responsible for the production optimisation in terms of quality and costs. Furthermore, he is centrally involved in the planning of automatisation and robotic solutions as well as in the analysis of the choice of machine invesment.

„We congratulate Jürgen on his successful thesis and wish him all the best for his professional future at SPN!“, the departure manager, Stefan Ohmüller, said.
